Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens if my pet’s bandage falls off?

A: Stay calm. Keep your pet in a safe space to prevent further trauma, keep the E-Collar on, and contact your veterinarian immediately.

It is always safest for a veterinary professional to reapply the bandage as soon as possible. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REAPPLY THE BANDAGE YOURSELF!

Q: Does my pet have to wear the Elizabethan collar (e-collar)?

A: It is safest for pets to wear their e-collar at all times unless otherwise directed by your veterinarian.

Q: What happens after the bandage is removed?

A: In some cases the e-collar needs to stay on after bandage removal for 24-48 hours to prevent the pet from traumatizing their itchy foot and freshly healed wound. Additionally, some pets may have some lameness but thats just because the leg feels weird without the bandage being on and that will resolve quickly.

Q: Can I give my pet a bath?

A: Typically no, as any moisture that gets into the absorbent material can cause damage or create an environment for bacterial and yeast growth.

Q: Can my pet run and play with the bandage?

A: Increased activity will result in the likelihood of additional bandage changes and further financial costs due to rapid wear on the bandage. For this reason, and the potential for bandage related injury, we do not recommend running or playing with a bandage.

Q: Why do bandages need to be changed so frequently?

A: Frequent changes are required to ensure that the bandage is not causing any damage to your pet.
